Since spring football wrapped up in mid-May, the skilled position players have been working hard in an effort to qualify for the state 7-on-7 tournament in College Station.
The Panthers took part in qualifying tournaments in Allen and Arlington over the last several weeks. While they have yet to punch their ticket to the 64-team event, last week’s performance in Arlington at the Colt Classic was a step in the right direction.
The 7-on-7 group opened initially competed in Allen last month, getting caught in a tough group that included DeSoto, J.J. Pearce and Sachse. After a rough loss to DeSoto in the opening match, Plano East had a much better showing in their final two matchups.
