MF-R paramedics adjust to realities of COVID-19

Paramedics had to make some of the most significant shifts in how they did their jobs in the last year since the pandemic hit the country.

Three emergency respond­ers from the Murphy Fire Rescue Department – Lt. Adam Kroviak, Matt Brown and Billy Cook – recent­ly looked back at how they made adjustments to combat contracting the coronavirus.

What has changed from be­fore the pandemic to during the pandemic is how first re­sponders protect themselves, as they are still going to ren­der the same life-saving treat­ment to any patient no matter the circumstances.

“Obviously, we’ve had to make a lot of changes to pro­tect ourselves from the virus given that we’re a 24-7, 365 operation,” Kroviak said.
