The Murphy Planning and Zoning Commission is again being asked to approve a site plan for The Center of Islamic Knowledge on 2.64 acres at 1030 and 1026 N. Murphy Road.
The current application before the Thursday, Oct. 8, P&Z meeting is for a site plan, landscape plan and building elevations for a church or place of worship on property zoned Single-Family (SF-15).
The Murphy City Council had approved a final plat for the center at its Sept. 25, 2025, meeting, since religious centers are a permitted nonresidential use in residential districts.
