Murphy’s new water rates include incentives for conserving water, but the city may take the idea one flush further.
Assistant City Manager Jared Mayfield reported at the Tuesday, Nov. 19, Murphy City Council meeting that other cities offer rebates for water-saving devices.
He said neighboring cities, including Allen, Corinth, Farmers Branch, Garland, Lewisville, McKinney and Plano offered incentives for upgrades including high-efficiency washing machines, low-flow toilets, pressure-reducing valves, rain sensors and smart irrigation controllers.
