MURPHY — Plano East scored two touchdowns seven seconds apart in the fourth quarter to rally for a 21-14 win against Prosper Rock Hill on Friday night from Tom Kimbrough Stadium.

Junior running back Travis Agee scored on a five-yard run and ran in the ensuing 2-point conversion to tie the score at 14-14.

The Panthers went ahead for good on a 13-yard scoop-and-score fumble return by senior linebacker Joshua Barrow with 4:46 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Offense was at a premium as the two teams combined for seven turnovers with four leading to touchdowns. Rock Hill capitalized on Courtney Lawson’s second interception of the first half, taking a 7-6 halftime lead after senior quarterback Jiyere Cogshell ran for a three-yard touchdown with 10 seconds remaining.

Rock Hill took advantage of another Plano East turnover in the third quarter, with a fumble recovery leading to a Cogshell toss to senior Isaiah Orlandi, who ran the jet sweep two yards into the end zone for a 14-6 lead.

The Blue Hawks were driving inside Panthers territory later in the game, but senior defensive back Andrew Earls recorded the first of his two interceptions.

Earls’ interception gave instant lift to a Plano East offense that had been held to two Blake Letourneau field goals. The Panthers turned to their rushing attack to drive down the field for the tying score. Agee ran from the five-yard line with 4:53 remaining in the ballgame. And after Barrow’s fumble return, Earls picked off a bad pass by Cogshell to all but wrap up the win for Plano East (6-1, 4-1).
