PRINCETON — Plano East head volleyball coach Sarah Perez felt that the energy level that her Lady Panthers usually play with wasn’t there to begin each set against Princeton on Tuesday. But for what Plano East lacked in the early-going, Perez praised her team for how well they finished.
Junior outside hitter Simone Heard finished with 16 kills, sophomore Grace Pinegar had four kills and Plano East capitalized on Princeton errors to clinch a 3-0 sweep (25-13, 25-10, 25-13).
It was the seventh straight win for Plano East (25-7, 8-1), which hasn’t lost since Sept. 6 when cross-town rival Plano West (19-6, 9-0) beat the Lady Panthers in three sets. The rematch is set for this Friday, when Plano East will look to even the score and forge a tie for first place in District 6-6A.
