MURPHY – The District 6-6A campaign kicked off just as Plano East wanted with a 44-21 victory over district newcomer Princeton on Friday night from Tom Kimbrough Stadium.
Jackson Hays’ two touchdown passes led the way for the victorious Panthers (3-0, 1-0 District 6-6A). He threw for 100 yards on 10-of-16 passing. Catching those passes were TCU commit Chance Ables and Jackson Howard. Those two combined for 84 yards on six receptions and two touchdowns.
Princeton quarterback Marcus Flowers threw for 264 yards on 21-of-34 passing. Ja’keylen Montgomery-Perkins led the team in both receiving and rushing. He ran for 78 yards and scored three touchdowns while also catching seven passes for 98 yards.
Plano East goes on the road next Friday for a bout against rival Plano West. Princeton (1-2, 0-1) will host Prosper Rock Hill.
