The 15th Annual Murphy Maize Days will have a ride for everybody and a new way to pay for them.

A $10 all-you-can-ride wrist band (four for $35) is among the new features at the Saturday, Oct. 5, “cornival” in Central Park, 550 N. Murphy Road.

Access is free, but food, drink and certain attractions are paid. Gates open at noon and fireworks will end the day at 9:30 p.m.

The Maize Midway will include small carnival rides and games, face painting, GellyBall and inflatables. Maize Market will feature a variety of items to purchase, including many handmade.

The parking lot will feature a classic car show.

The Murphy Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation will be raising money with its popular Punkin’ Chunkin’ event.

Rides will include a 42-foot Ferris wheel, a 40-foot carousel, Scat, Berry-Go-Round, Mindwinder, Ballistic and Pirate’s Revenge.

Live music will include Le Freak, which bills itself as the greatest Disco band in the world.

The Cornhole Tournament introduced last year is returning with prizes for winning teams.

Yard Dawgs is sponsoring the Herman Marshall Whiskey Tasting VIP Lounge from 4-9 p.m. for $45.

It will include expertly curated whiskey tasting selection from Herman Marshall in Wylie with small gourmet plates and bourbon flavored dishes.
