P&Z hears case for development

Tensions grew during the Monday, April 25, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting concerning a curve in a roadway some think could be dangerous.

The curve in question is in a construction plat for South Maxwell Creek Road that would realign the street with North Maxwell Creek Road at the FM 544 intersection. It is part of a bigger project for the Murphy Estates planned development that consists of 37 residential lots.

Although the item was not a public hearing, one resident expressed concerns about drivers losing control of their vehicle at the curve and crashing into his home. The concern was also brought up when the commission and city council approved the development last year.
