Council recieved ‘clean’ financial audit

by | Apr 6, 2022 | Latest

Council accepted the findings of the annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended September 30, 2021, and approved a logo for a business commercial during the April 5 regular council meeting.

Brent Young, certified public accountant for Weaver and Tidwell, said the FY 21 annual comprehensive financial report includes financial statements and the auditor’s opinion, which was an unmodified or “clean” opinion on the audit.

After several meetings and workshops, council made a decision on the logo for The Corridor, the commercial district along FM 544 from Dublin Road to McCreary Road.

Murphy Budget Officer Shahrzad Rizvi presented an ordinance amending the fiscal year 2022 expenditures for unspent purchase orders from the previous fiscal year in six funds.

Council also approved a resolution allowing the current Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) contract, which was signed in August 2017, to expire without renewal. Instead, the resolution authorized the city manager to begin negotiations with Core and Main to execute a new AMI contract.
