A Murphy man on Sept. 16 was sentenced to 31 months in prison and three years of supervised release for perpetrating a fraud scheme, the U.S. Department of Justice stated in a news release.
Justice officials said Fahad Shah, 45, schemed to fraudulently obtain more than $3.3 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
