Serving on the PTA is a great way for parents to be involved and form new friendships, but those friendships don’t have to end when the kids head off to college.
A group of Murphy women — all nearing their 50s — who became friends 13 years ago while serving on the Boggess Elementary PTA found themselves faced with houses that were emptying and the desire to try something different and stay in shape.
They dubbed this period of their life as their second act.
