Leaders work together to formulate strategic plan

by | Jan 28, 2021 | Latest

The Murphy City Council City learned about the city’s efforts to formulate a strategic plan for economic development at its Jan. 19 meeting.

City Manager Mike Castro conducted a presentation to the council and said the report would be a “check-in” on what was occurring with the development of the plan. Two joint work sessions were held with the Murphy Community Development Corporation and the Murphy Municipal Development District boards, with city staffers having a meeting with these bodies Nov. 9 to receive general input regarding economic development. From that meeting, city staff created a set of guiding principles, goals and objectives, with these items being discussed and refined by the boards in a second joint work session on Dec. 7, city officials said.
