COVID-19 has forced families to find different ways to enjoy their leisure time.
The city of Murphy Recreation Department wants to help families in this regard by offering fun activities.
In Murphy, the Rainbow Trout Roundup, the Father-Daughter Dance and the Mother-Son Dance were cancelled for this year, and so the recreation department will provide fresh programs and events for the first quarter of 2021 that city officials hope will offer safe alternatives for these popular events and provide new ways for the local community to engage in recreation virtually, according to Caitlyn Mullins, manager of recreation services for the city.
The Virtual Community Center, a page on the Murphy website, has been initiated created. It is located at http://www.murphytx.org/824/Virtual-Community-Center, and will have interactive programs and activities that participants can enjoy.
