PLANO — The Panthers head into Friday’s matchup with highly ranked Allen on a roll, and apparently with “anything to lose.”

After pummeling Plano West 67-17 last Friday — it was the third straight game PESH has scored 60 points or more — the playoff-bound Panthers are now 5-3 overall and 4-1 in District 6-6A, and appear to be peaking at the right moment.

Whether they’ve reached the summit of that performance, or can still climb higher, will be found out this Friday at Kimbrough Stadium, where the Panthers will host the perennially powerful and state-ranked Allen Eagles (8-0, 5-0).

“We don’t have anything to lose,” head coach Joey McCullough said. “I told the kids that I like where we are at, I like how we’re playing. I think we have been doing a lot of good things. We’re playing with confidence. The good thing is that nobody is going to pick us (to win), so let’s go out swinging and see what happens. There is no pressure; go out and play hard, like you’ve been playing, and good things will happen.”
