MURPHY — The Panthers recently finished their third spring practice under head coach Joey McCullough, and if their showing in last Friday’s Spring Showcase is any indication, the black and gold will have plenty of firepower on both sides of the ball.
Offensively, the Panthers have some exceptional talent at the ball-handling positions, particularly at quarterback with senior-to-be Miklo Smalls and running backs Trey Hunter and Jonathan Meadors, each of who will be juniors.
Smalls, who has been running the offense for the last two seniors, not only has a strong and accurate arm, but also the ability to extend plays with his legs. He also was the 2015 Offensive Player of the Year in District 6-6A.
Hunter and Meadors also have a healthy set of legs, which they used to power their way to several long runs and scores.
