The 13th Annual WISD Education Foundation Gala is right around the corner and will feature some tried and true favorites along with new features to liven up the event.

The once named Boots n’ Barbecue is taking on a new face with a Mardi Gras theme. Mimicking New Orleans, the event will have face painting and street performers, entertaining guests with an array of talents.

Cajun Jambalaya with Sausage and Chicken, served with garlic toast, will be available upon arrival.

Dinner will be plated and served at 7 p.m. in the Oil Baron’s Ballroom. The traditional live and silent auctions will remain the same.

Attire is varied from casual to festive and everything in between.

The winner of the Elisabeth W. Garrison Award will be announced at the event. Nominations are still being accepted. Nominees must be any woman who demonstrates servant leadership; lives or works within Wylie ISD; gives of herself in the form of time, talent or money and has not received monetary compensation for her efforts; be available for the Annual Gala and be an individual who deems education of high importance. A panel of community volunteers, business leaders and educators will select, from the nominations submitted, the recipient of the EWG Award.
