PLANO — The Panthers’ 32-15 win over Plano last Friday may not have been the prettiest thing, but don’t tell PESH head coach Joey McCullough it was “ugly.”

“There ain’t no such thing as an ugly win,” he said, “especially since you haven’t won the city championship (beating the other Plano schools) since (a while back).”

The Panthers beat Plano West earlier this season. Also, Friday’s victory evened McCullough at 1-1 with his brother Jaylon, the Wildcats’ head coach, in head-to-head competition.

More importantly, though, the victory at John Clark Stadium improved East’s record to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in District 6-6A, with a key game coming up Friday at Flower Mound Marcus. The Marauders are 4-1 in district play after edging Plano West 23-21 last Friday, and are a half-game up on East in the standings.
