Residents of Murphy will soon have a new fast casual dining establishment to choose from.

During the Nov. 17 meeting, the council voted in favor of the construction of a Schlotzsky’s restaurant with a drive-thru window.

“From my perspective in the past, I have been opposed to drive-thru’s partly because we get a lot of criticism from various Murphy residents about fast food. I do think Schlotzsky’s is a bit unique. It will bring a different niche to the Murphy market,” Deputy Mayor pro tem Owais Siddiqui said.
