Council sets 2019-20 tax, budget hearings

Murphy City Council set public hearings for Sept. 3 and 10 on the proposed 2019-20 budget and the 2019 property tax rate that is expected to reflect a half-cent increase to 49.5 cents per $100 assessed valuation.

The council met Tuesday, Aug. 6 for a brief budget workshop and in regular session.
