Wylie ISD’s fine arts department is busy planning Celebrate the Arts activities.

Festivities officially began Feb. 21 with a junior high choir festival, and continued with a junior high band festival March 4. However, most activities will be held the third week of March.

A high school choir festival begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21 in the Wylie High School auditorium.

The next day, the fourth grade honor choir performs in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The art show opens at 7 p.m. in the WHS cafeteria, featuring art from all grade levels.

Art will continue to be available for viewing beginning from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 23 and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24.

Intermediate school bands will perform in the WHS band hall from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23. On the same day in the auditorium, intermediate choirs will perform from noon to 4 p.m. and the One Act Play Festival starts at 5 p.m.

A high school band festival is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 in the Wylie East auditorium.
