McMillen to produce spring show

by | Feb 21, 2019 | Education

One local play has the potential to bring together comedy lovers, theatergoers and Christmas enthusiasts.

Drama students at McMillen High School are busy preparing their spring show, Steve Franco’s “In-Laws, Outlaws and Other People (That Should Be Shot).”

Performances run Feb. 21-23 at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

The show tells the story of the Douglas family. While preparing to host their eccentric relatives on Christmas Eve, the Douglases find their home invaded by criminals Tony and Vinny. The outlaws had just robbed a store and, needing a place to hide, hold the large family hostage.

“McMillen Theatre presents one of the most hilarious comedies around,” said director Sherika Gaines. “What happens when Christmas with the in-laws turns into Christmas with robbers? This new show not only makes you laugh, but also gives you a heartfelt ending that makes you understand the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas in February – well, why not?”

Tickets are available online at tinyurl.com/McMillenShows.

McMillen is located in Murphy at 750 N. Murphy Road.
