Murphy residents with an outstanding warrant or unpaid traffic and non-traffic violations will be granted amnesty if they voluntarily appear between Feb. 23 and March 8 to resolve their cases at Municipal Court.
Murphy Police Department and Municipal Court are joining more than 300 law enforcement agencies statewide that are participating in the upcoming Great Texas Warrant Roundup.
“The Great Texas Warrant Roundup is really divided into two phases,” Murphy Municipal Court Administrator Patti Towne said. “The first phase of the Warrant Roundup, which begins Saturday, February 23 and ends Friday, March 8, is considered an amnesty period and consists of a notification period that includes warrant calls and mailed notifications.”
The 2-week amnesty period allows individuals with outstanding warrants to voluntarily appear at the Murphy Municipal Court to resolve their cases without fear of arrest.
