Plano ISD taps lone superintendent finalist

Veteran educator Sara Bonser, who has been serving as Interim Superintendent of Plano Independent School District, waves to well-wishers after being named lone superintendent finalist by the board of trustees.

Opting to stay with someone whose qualities are known, Plano Independent School District last week tapped Interim Superintendent Sara Bonser as the lone finalist as superintendent of schools.

The announcement was made Tuesday, March 6, at a special called meeting of the PISD Board of Trustees. Bonser replaces Brian Binggeli whose resignation was announced in November 2017 and effective Jan. 31.

Bonser returned to PISD in may 2017 to serve as interim deputy superintendent and has filled to role of interim superintendent since Nov. 28, 2017. She has worked in the Plano and Rockwall school districts for the past 27 years.
