Plano East fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter and was never able to recover in a 48-20 loss to Prosper on Friday at Prosper ISD Children’s Health Stadium.
The Eagles took a 7-0 lead after Anush Upruti recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown.
Braeden Imhoff threw for touchdown passes of 24 and 58 yards in a span of three minutes to increase Prosper’s lead to 21-0.
Plano East made it a two-score game, 21-7, after MJ Haggan completed a 63-yard touchdown pass to Kariem Pittman with 7:48 left in the second quarter.
Prosper countered with three straight touchdowns, capped off by a 26-yard run by Bryce Robinson, which gave the Eagles a commanding 42-7 lead.
Plano East got two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, an eight-yard run by Travis Agee and a 15-yard pass from Haggan to Gabe Berliner.
Haggan completed 9 of 20 passes for 148 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Pittman had two catches for 75 yards.
Treyce Seldon powered the Panthers’ rushing attack, finishing with 59 yards on 16 carries.
Prosper (4-0) outgained Plano East (0-5) 526-248 in total yardage.
