HURST – When the Plano East softball team was faced with its largest deficit of the playoffs, head coach Lauren Peterson told her Lady Panthers to continue to follow the game plan.

Heeding the words of their head coach, the Lady Panthers responded.

Sophomore Gina Martin hit an RBI single into center field and senior Julia Wilson launched a two-run double to bring Plano East to within 7-4 after they trailed 7-1. But the Lady Panthers were unable to get any closer in a season-ending 8-4 loss to Flower Mound in Game 2 of the Region I-6A final from L.D. Bell High School last Friday.

“They were ready,” Peterson said. “They were locked in. They had a game plan. They knew what they wanted to do. We had some defensive errors that hurt us, but our game plan was much better than in the first game.”
