Plano East 6-foot-7 senior forward DJ Hall announced on his personal X (Twitter) account on Monday evening that he has verbally committed to Texas State.

Hall was a first-year starter for the Panthers as a junior, and things couldn’t have gone any better.

The future Bobcat used his unique combination of strength and excellent footwork in the paint to punish opponents in the paint while also showing off his range. He averaged 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 60% from the field to lead Plano East to an undefeated 40-0 record and the Class 6A state championship.

Hall was named the co-MVP in District 6-6A along with Plano East alum Jordan Mizel and later capped off an unbelimished season for the Panthers by being named the most valuable player of the state championship game. He scored a team-high 18 points on 53% shooting from the field and pulled down eight rebounds in a 53-41 win over Stony Point from the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Hall chose Texas State over Albany, Jacksonville, Louisiana Tech, Montana State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Vermont.
