Ground spraying was scheduled in Murphy following the discovery of three mosquitos carrying the West Nile Virus.
The city of Murphy and the Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed West Nile was confirmed in a mosquito trapped June 14 in the creek bed along Lonesome Dove Trail, northeast of the intersection of North Murphy Road and Betsy Lane.
A second infected insect was trapped there on June 21, along with a third found the same day in a pool along Shelby Trace, the city said.
No human infections have been reported.
Ground spraying in the two areas was to begin at 9 a.m., Friday, June 28. Sidewalks in the areas were to be closed for 24 hours after spraying.
