With one paw on a Bible, Apple Jack has been sworn in as a service dog for Murphy Fire Rescue. The 18-month-old yellow Labrador appeared at the Tuesday, April 16, meeting of the Murphy City Council.
In other business, council honored the 29 students who submitted artwork for the annual Recycle Art Contest. Designs by four winners will appear on Republic Services recycling trucks.
