Council has approved a request from the Murphy Historical Society (MHS) to repair 32 gravestones in the Decatur/Maxwell/Murphy Cemetery just north of Maxwell Creek. The $8,250 project will be carried out by Michaelangelo Historic Stone Preservation and Restoration of Irving.
In other action at the Tuesday, July 18, meeting, Jared Mayfield, director of community & economic development, reported the city won 2023 “TAMI” awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers. The awards were presented Thursday, June 8, at the association’s annual conference.
