Register entries for annual Christmas parade

by | Nov 17, 2022 | Latest, Life & Style

Individuals or groups with a yearning to add merriment to the season in the form of parade participation should act now and register for their float at the annual Holiday in the Park in Murphy.

The deadline to register to walk, ride a bike, pull a wagon, or drive a golfcart in the parade is Nov. 23. Entry forms can be found on the city’s website at murphytx.org. According to the city, registered participants should receive a confirmation via email by Nov. 30.

Parade entries must be decorated in the Winter Wonderland theme this year and no Santas are allowed except for the one provided by the organization committee.

Entrants must clearly display the name of the organization or business.

Parade staging will open at 4:30 p.m. and everyone must be in line by 5 p.m. in front of the Murphy Fire Department Bay the day of the event, Thursday, Dec. 1. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m.

According to the city, no candy can be thrown, however walkers can hand out candy.

Awards will be given for the Most Creative and Best in Show. All entrants will be judged during and at the end of the parade and winners will be announced at the tree lighting ceremony.

For assistance, call 972-468-4444.
