Plano East loses fourth straight district game

The Plano East Panthers (0-4, 3-4) are now below .500 for the first time this season, losing to the Coppell Cowboys (3-1, 6-1) 49-14 Friday night.

The Cowboys took advantage of the Panthers’ defense early, producing 332 passing yards and scoring 28 points in the first half.

Rushil Patel finished the game with under 100 yards for the second straight week. but did score as he caught six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Jaylon Hatcher ran for 85 yards and scored on a 53-yard run in the third quarter. It was a tough night for the Plano East offensive overall, as quarterback Drew Devillier was held to just 79 yards passing. He completed 10 out of 20 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Coppell quarterback Jack Fishpaw threw 18 for 24 passes for 324 yards and six touchdowns. Receivers Zack Darkoch, Baron Tipton and Carter Kincaid combined for those six touchdowns.

The Panthers face the Plano West Wolves next Friday at Clark Stadium in Plano.
