by | Oct 7, 2022 | Latest, Sports

Plano East (0-3, 3-3) stays winless in district play as Flower Mound (1-2, 1-5) gets their first win of the season by the score of 48-31 at Flower Mound’s Wilson Stadium.

The Jaguars penetrated the Panthers’ defense on the ground and in the air throughout the game. Flower Mound scored 34 points in the first half, led by five touchdowns from their quarterback Yale Erdman. The Panthers had chances to keep the score close but failed on critical drives and fourth-down conversions.

East running back Austin Wesley rushed 27 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Rushil Patel with a season-low 67 yards and one touchdown, while quarterback Drew Devillier threw 19 completions for 254 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Plano East have lost their last three games after starting the season with wins in their first three. The Panthers gave up 116 points and only produced 76 points in those three losses.

Flower Mound’s quarterback Yale Erdman completed 20 out of 31 passes for 285 yards and four touchdowns. East finished with 471 total yards to Flower Mound’s 415.

The Panthers return home next week to face the Coppell Cowboys at Kimbrough Stadium in Murphy.
