Council considers PD amendment

by | Mar 16, 2022 | Latest

Council held two public hearings concerning a Murphy development and considered a variance to the signage ordinance during the March 15 regular meeting.

The first public hearing concerned rezoning a 2.709-acre lot in a larger development known as The Enclave at Maxwell Creek, from single-family residential-20 to single-family residential-patio.

The rezoning would allow for a second building phase of 30 patio homes in addition to the 53 units in the first phase for a total of 83 units.

When council opened the public hearing, there were no speakers and council approved the change.

The second public hearing was about the concept plan for The Enclave at Maxwell Creek, which would change the street layout but wouldn’t change the number of units or any of the planned development conditions.

There were no speakers when the public hearing opened and council approved the plan with the condition that the developer provides 20 feet of right of way at no cost to the city for a future sidewalk.

In other news, council approved a signage variance for Sweetwater Coffee and Tea to allow a third sign. The current signage ordinance was approved in 2017 and only allows two signs per business.
