Wylie, Plano ISD to remain closed

Wylie and Plano ISD campuses will remain closed Friday, Feb. 4 as inclement weather continues to impact North Texas.

All WISD and PISD sporting events scheduled for Thursday and Friday have been canceled. For the time being, Saturday games will resume as originally scheduled. Wylie East High School basketball games set for Friday has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 at noon for girls and 1:30 p.m. for boys.

Soccer games for Wylie and Wylie East will be made up at the next available date. 

Plano East High School will make up its varsity soccer games Monday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.

Murphy City Hall is closed today but has not determined whether or not it will be closed Friday, Feb. 4.

The Ethics Committee Meeting scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 3 has been postponed until Thursday, Feb. 10.

Murphy residents are encouraged to remain indoors if possible. City officials also recommend opening cabinet doors and letting faucets drip to help avoid pipes freezing.

Trash collections have been postponed today and Friday’s collections may be impacted as well.

Frigid temperatures are expected to continue through Saturday.
