Director of Public Works Donald Reese says there has been a significant reduction over the past three years in the amount of water lost from the city’s distribution center.
Reese told the Tuesday, Feb. 17, meeting of the Murphy City Council the complete 2025 water loss was 168 million gallons, or 13%. Reese said his goal would be a 10% loss and he asked for citizens to report obvious water leaks or a loss in water pressure that could indicate a leak.
Also on the agenda, council approved spending up to nearly $412,000 for design work associated with the rehabilitation or replacement of about 6,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer line and concrete roadway in The Timbers subdivision.
