New leaders, strong PTA showing mark WISD meeting

by | Nov 20, 2025 | Education, Latest

Wylie ISD Board of Trustees convened for its regular monthly meeting on Nov. 17, welcoming new staff members and receiving several departmental updates.

The meeting opened with recognitions and introductions of new district leaders, including Dr. Jessica Branch as assistant superintendent of human resources; Amanda Lannan as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction; Amanda Martin as chief of staff; and Amy Andrews as director of counseling and the Wylie Way.

Trustees later received updates on dual credit offerings, Wylie Way Caring and Giving/Social Emotional Learning programs, the Board of Trustees continuing education report, and the district’s annual PTA update.

Rachel Allen, president of the Wylie ISD Council of PTAs, delivered the PTA report, noting that the district’s 19 local PTAs offered 141 student programs in the past month alone. She also reported that membership grew to more than 15,000 last year.
