The Murphy City Council has approved the 2025 Tax Roll Summary showing the city’s taxable value rising to $3.97 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, according to figures provided by the Collin County Tax Assessor.
Finance Director Berna Fitzpatrick-Walker said the roll reflected an increase of about $26.1 million over the value used to prepare the FY 2026 budget, resulting in an estimated $69,586 in additional maintenance and operations revenue.
State law requires the governing body to formally acknowledge receipt of the tax roll after the assessor enters the final levy totals.
Also at the Tuesday, Nov. 4 meeting, councilmembers approved an updated investment policy required under the Public Funds Investment Act.
