Mayor highlights city’s growth, vision

by | Oct 2, 2025 | Latest

Mayor Scott Bradley tells the “State of the City” breakfast attendees that there is a new spirit in Murphy city government. The event, sponsored by the chamber of commerce, was held Thursday, Sept. 25.

Mayor Scott Bradley struck an optimistic tone as he outlined the city’s progress and future goals during the annual State of the City breakfast sponsored by the Murphy Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking to business and community leaders Thursday, Sept. 25, Bradley said he and the City Council are encouraged by what he described as a new spirit within city government.

“We are really exceptionally happy as a council right now,” he said. “There’s really an excitement about what they’re doing within the community, and I hope that you see that a little bit in this presentation.”

Bradley highlighted a series of new businesses that have opened in Murphy over the past year, filling what he acknowledged is limited commercial space in the fast-growing suburb. The list included City Vet, Chop House Gyro, Wingstop, Victory Paint, Original Mocha, One Stop India, Nuevo Leon Taqueria and Tamaleria, Alloy Personal Training, Pinch A Penny Pool-Patio-Spa, Pixel Speed Sim Racing and Everbrook Academy.
