The city of Murphy is exploring a new home for the Murphy Veterans Tribute in the City Hall complex. The proposed space is a grassy median island at the far east end of the parking lot.
The city is looking into a new location for the Murphy Veterans Tribute (MVT), possibly as part of the City Hall complex.
In August 2017, the Murphy City Council designated up to one-half acre next to the amphitheater in Central Park for the tribute. However, fundraising for the project lagged and City Manager Aretha Adams said in June that the original location would no longer be available.
Veterans and MVT board members requested an open discussion on the project and Adams brought it before the Tuesday, Sept. 16, council meeting.
