Collin College board to appoint trustee

by | Sep 25, 2025 | Area News, Education, Latest

The Collin College Board of Trustees is seeking applications for a successor to Place 1 Trustee Megan Wallace, who resigned this month due to relocation.

Wallace was elected in May 2023 and her term expires in May 2029.

The board will appoint a successor, who will serve until the next regular board election in May 2027. The individual elected to Place 1 will then serve until the expiration of Wallace’s term and could then seek re-election.

Applications are being accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24. A form is available under external relations/board elections on collin.edu.

“The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in our college community, serving residents and providing strategic oversight for the institution’s long-term success,” said Jay Saad, chairman. “Filling this vacancy is an important responsibility, and we are committed to finding a dedicated individual who will help us continue to uphold our mission of student success.”

To be eligible for consideration for the Collin College Board of Trustees, a candidate must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a qualified voter, and a resident of Collin County for six continuous months and the state of Texas for 12 continuous months prior to the date the appointment is made. The selected candidate must be willing to commit to reside in Collin County for the duration of the appointment and be available to attend monthly meetings.
