Fourteen residents of Murphy were recognized for completing the city’s Citizens’ Academy, known as Murphy University, a summer program designed to build trust, transparency and engagement between residents and their local government.
Program coordinator Kasaun Goss presented an overview of the academy, which ran from June through August and gave participants a behind-the-scenes look at how Murphy operates.
