Noel leads charge for Plano East at Southlake Carroll

SOUTHLAKE – The prestigious Southlake Carroll Invitational brought several state-ranked cross-country teams from across the state and Arkansas and Oklahoma to Bob Jones Park at the crack of dawn last Saturday morning for one of the largest meets of the regular season in the Dallas area.

The fast course at Bob Jones Park also led to a personal best for Plano East senior Reagan Noel. She ran to 31st place with a time of 18:47. Her time is 1 minute, 22 seconds faster than all of last year and 7:26 faster than as a freshman.

Junior Meena Mulford turned in the next fastest time for the Lady Panthers, placing 66th with a 19:43. Brooke Tierney, also a junior, took 76th in 19:56, followed by Dyan Tecuatl, a senior, who placed 82nd in 19:59. Junior Kate Salyer took 109th in 20:29, while senior Sarita Fino placed 144th in 21:11.

Leading the way for the Plano East boys was junior Isaac Updike, who clocked a time of 16:00, good for 72nd overall. Freshman Levi Rowe was 145th in 16:19, followed closely by junior Deyan Bhakta (150th, 16:22). Junior Ryder Glenn (168th, 16:38), junior Cole McBride (176th, 16:47), freshman Grant Updike (188th, 16:55), junior Michael Sharp (190th, 16:55.1) and sophomore Ben Mangum (194th, 17:06) rounded out the efforts for the Panthers.
