Yuli and his mom read a book at the Murphy Back 2 School Bash Thursday, July 24, at the Murphy Community Center.
It was the hottest day of the year so far as the temperature flirted with triple digits. But that didn’t stop hundreds of students and parents from enjoying the annual Back 2 School Bash held Thursday, July 24, at the Murphy Community Center.
Three giant inflatables dominated the front of the building and piles of shoes revealed how popular each was. One attraction had a large brown ball on a rope that could be swung like a pendulum to knock over other participants.
There was also a miniature golf putting green.
The Wylie ISD Bookmobile was parked next door at the Murphy Activity Center and several grownups took advantage of a shady canopy to share their love of reading.
Mackenzie, going into second grade, explored Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat,” with her grandma.
