The city of Murphy intends to issue up to $23 million in tax and revenue certificates of obligation (COs) to fund several public works projects and purchase software for the police department.
The Murphy City Council voted at its regular Tuesday, May 20, meeting for a resolution approving and authorizing publication of Notice of Intention to issue the COs at a meeting to be held Thursday, July 31, in the Community Room of the City Hall complex. No public hearing is required before the certificates are issued.
Finance Director Berna Fitzpatrick-Walker said principal and interest on the CO’s will be paid using water and sewer revenues collected from utility customers and from tax revenue collected from ad valorem collections, based on purpose.
