The stock of Plano East rising sophomore basketball phenom Arianna Robinson continues to rise, even three months after she helped to lead the Lady Panthers to the state semifinals for the first time.
Robinson was one of 16 players selected for the USA women’s national team roster that will compete at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup from June 16-22 in Irapuato, Mexico. Two players from Texas were chosen, and the other was 5-9 guard Jazman Bailey, who will be a junior at Mansfield Lake Ridge next season.
The roster was selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Development National Team Committee and represents the graduating classes of 2026, 2027 and 2028.
Robinson, who was named the District 6-6A offensive player of the year, averaged 20.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.1 steals as a freshman. In the Lady Panthers’ run to the state semifinals, she showed that the wasn’t afraid of the moment. Robinson averaged 22 points in the playoffs and scored 28 points in a 49-45 win over North Crowley in the Region I-6A Division I final and poured in 31 points in a 61-51 loss to Cedar Hill in the state semifinals.
