Bands booked for June concert series

by | May 8, 2025 | Latest

Emerald City Band will be performing June 6.

Emerald City Band is the first of four bands scheduled for free Friday night concerts in June. The Dallas-based band will take the amphitheater stage in Murphy Central Park on June 6.

The Murphy Parks and Recreation Department has also booked Ashmore for June 13, Still the One on June 20 and Texas Eagles for June 27.

Emerald City was the closing act in last year’s series, bringing out thousands of rock ‘n’ roll fans despite sweltering triple-digit temperatures. The band’s vocalists and musicians had spectators on their feet and dancing to the thundering beat and pulsing lights with a repertoire highlighting classic rock favorites.

Ashmore, a four-member local band, also excels at vintage vinyl-era hits and has shared the stage with Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi and The Guess Who.

Still the One, a tribute to Shania Twain, features Adrian Lea Valhalla, 2023 Best Female Vocalist at the DFW Music Choice Awards.

Houston’s Texas Eagles tribute band rocks such hits as “Hotel California,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Take It Easy,” “One of These Nights,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Desperado,” “Witchy Woman,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Take It to the Limit” and “Already Gone.”

Other outdoor entertainment planned by the Parks & Recreation Department includes Moonlight Movies: Disney’s “Moana 2” on Friday, May 23, in North Hill Park; “Sonic 3” on Friday, July 18, in Aviary Park and “A Minecraft Movie” on Friday, Sept. 19, in Travis Farm Park.
