Man sentenced in couple’s 2023 murder

A 29-year-old Dallas man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the shooting deaths of a Murphy couple two years ago.

Cristian Andres Bocanegra waived a jury trial and pleaded guilty Friday, Feb. 28, to one count of murder.

He was accused of driving Vincent Cantu to the home of Cantu’s parents in the Rolling Ridge subdivision on the evening of Monday, April 10, 2023.
