For her efforts in leading the Plano East girls’ basketball team to its first appearance in the state semifinals in program history, freshman guard Arianna Robinson was recently named to the girls’ basketball state all-tournament team, as selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Robinson averaged 22 points per game in five playoff games, including a 31-point outburst in Plano East’s 61-51 loss to Cedar Hill in the Class 6A Division I state semifinals.

She was one of six players to earn their way on the all-tournament team. Cedar Hill sophomore guard Dawn Johnson, senior forward Brooklyn King, Humble Summer Creek sophomore forward Erin Newsom, junior guard Kennedy Simpson and Cibolo Steele sophomore forward Jasmine Travis were also selected to the all-tournament team. Simpson was named the most valuable player of the 6A-I state championship game. Summer Creek rallied from an 18-point deficit to stun Cedar Hill 52-49.

Robinson was also named the District 6-6A offensive player of the year.
