The Murphy City Council has called a general election to be held Saturday, May 3, for four seats on the council.
The election is for Place 1, held by Mayor Pro Tem Elizabeth Abraham; Place 2, held by Councilmember Scott Smith; Place 4 held by Councilmember Ken Oltmann and Place 6, held by Deputy Mayor pro tem Jené Butler.
All four incumbents have filed for re-election and Nadeem Khan has filed for Place 1.
Friday, Feb. 14, is the last day to file for a place on the ballot.
Thursday, April 3, is the last day to register to vote and Tuesday, April 22, is the last day to apply for a mail-in ballot.
Early voting will be held from Tuesday, April 22, to Tuesday, April 29, in the Homer and Marie Adams Room of the Murphy Community Center, 205 N. Murphy Road.
If needed, a runoff will be held Saturday, June 7.
